The 2003 initiative involved 5 extraordinary sessions that took place on the morning of Friday, March 14th 2003, at the following locations:
Each I-MUN Forum session was divided into two segments. The first segment consisted mainly of a panel presentation where experts from the government, academic and non-government sector in Canada had a chance to present their views about a topic relevant to CANIMUN and the United Nations. The second segment afforded delegates an opportunity to ask specific questions to the experienced panelists. Overall, I-MUN Forum sessions were a unique occasion to promote dialogue and discussion among youth and professionals on a number of subject matters that are relevant to Canada, the UN and the future of our world.
The following are the 5 subject matters that were discussed at the 2003 I-MUN Forum:
I-MUN Forum sessions were a special feature of the inaugural CANIMUN Conference in terms of both context and content. While the venues secured for these provides delegates with a unique and valuable opportunity to visit some of the nation’s prime political and historical landmarks, the presentations and subsequent interaction between delegates and panelists served as additional sources of reference and information that helped contribute to accurate and engaging debate during the 2003 committee sessions.
