(17/03/2003) Registration

Conference registration will take place on Wednesday March 12 at the Westin Hotel between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. All delegates MUST register during this time in order to have access to Conference venues, including the NAC where the Opening Ceremony will be held and all I-MUN Forum sessions on Friday March 14. Information on the location of the Conference registration desk will be available at the Hotel lobby on March 12.

 

(17/03/2003) Opening Ceremony: Delegates MUST arrive by 6:30 PM!

The Secretariat would like to inform all delegates that everyone must arrive at the National Arts Centre by 6:30 PM in order to guarantee access to the Opening Ceremony and Keynote Address. Please note that the Ceremony will enjoy simultaneous interpretation and that Conference nametags will be required in order to enter the NAC and to receive interpretation equipment for the evening.

 

(17/03/2003) CANIMUN confirms participation from Asia, Africa, Europe & Latin America!

The Secretariat is pleased to announce the participation of international delegates from China, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Africa, Gambia, Nigeria, Mali, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Norway, Kosovo, Costa Rica and Colombia. UNA-Canada takes this opportunity to thank Citizenship and Immigration Canada for their collaboration and support. We look forward to welcoming all international delegates in our country within a few days.

(17/03/2003) I-MUN Forum: All delegates have been Registered

All delegates have been assigned a seat at one of 5 I-MUN Forum sessions taking place on the morning of Friday March 14th 2003. Those who are unaware of their seat assignment will be informed on the latter upon registration on Wednesday March 12. Please note that I-MUN Forum is an integral part of this Model UN Conference and all delegates are expected to arrive at their respective session by 9:00 AM. For security reasons surrounding the use of I-MUN Forum venues, there are no seat exchanges allowed between delegates.

 

(04/03/2003) Montreal CANIMUN Express: Seats available until Friday February 28!

(24/02/2003) Position Papers due February 23rd!

The Secretariat would like to remind all registered delegates that position papers are due on Sunday February 23rd 2003. These will be thoroughly reviewed by Secretariat and Dias members in order to ensure timely, accurate and appropriate preparation of all participants. Please refer to the 'Preparation' section of the site for guidelines on how to prepare and write a position paper.

 

(24/02/2003) Background Guides available ONLINE!

Delegate Background Guides are now available for all CANIMUN committees in both HTML and PDF formats. All Head Delegates have been issued the appropriate login and password information to access this section of our site. Please contact committee Chairs and Directors for any questions/concerns that you may have.

 

(03/02/2003) LAST Week: CANIMUN Registration Closes Monday February 3rd!

From March 12-15 2003, Canada's capital city will play host to an extraordinary simulation experience that combines a series of exclusive features with levels of unprecedented cross-country and international participation to make Canada's first bilingual MUN Conference for post-secondary level students an event not to be missed and never to be forgotten. (20/01/2003) LAST Week: CANIMUN Hotel Rates guaranteed until Monday January 20, 2003!

The Westin Hotel in downtown Ottawa will be providing accommodations for all delegates attending CANIMUN. Preferential hotel rates for CANIMUN will be available for one more week until Mon. (13/01/2003) CANIMUN Announces Visa Fee Exemption for All International Delegates!

Following concrete steps taken by the Secretariat to encourage and facilitate international participation at CANIMUN, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has granted a fee exemption for all CANIMUN international delegates that are required to process visitor visas. For more information on international participation and CIC, please refer to the 'Registration' section on this site.

 

(13/01/2003) CANIMUN Announces Stephen Lewis as Keynote Speaker!

The CANIMUN Secretariat is pleased to announce Stephen Lewis as the keynote speaker for opening ceremonies on March 12, 2003. Currently UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, Mr. Lewis has had extensive experience as a politician, diplomat and humanitarian. (09/12/2002) Country Assignments begin Monday Dec. 9 2002!

Early registration period ended on Sunday December 1st 2002. The Secretariat would like to inform all delegations that have been succesfully registered with CANIMUN that country assignments will begin Monday December 9th 2002 and continue thereafter on a first come, first served basis.

 

(02/12/2002) Early Registration Ends December 1st 2002!

Early registration began on September 30, 2002 and guarantees priority on committee and country selection. Regular registration starts on December 2, 2002. Don’t delay ensuring that your delegation is able to participate at this new and exciting conference!

 

(21/11/2002) CANIMUN Welcomes Over 50 Volunteer Staff Members!

CANIMUN has completed its search for Model UN enthusiasts interested in the positions of Chairs, Directors and Rapporteurs. The Conference is now staffed with avid Model UN enthusiasts from across Canada and the United States who will bring cultural and regional uniqueness to this new and innovative international MUN event.
