ASEAN + 3 Ministerial meeting (crisis committee)
(English Language Committee)

Topic 1: China/ASEAN relations
Topic 2: The question of the Spratly Islands

Preview: The Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers from ASEAN member countries as well as North Korea, China and Japan will gather to discuss pressing regional issues as well as to attempt to resolve imminent crisis in the region. How will China influence the region, how will ASEAN move towards achieving the goals it had set for itself and how will the United States influence regional stability? This will be left up to delegates to find out...

Elections Canada 2016
(English Language Committee)

Preview: This committee is a futuristic simulation to re-create the atmosphere of pre-elections in Canada as well as the many challenges that the new party electoral organisers from the Progressive Alliance (born from a merger between the current Alliance Party and the Progressive Conservatives) will face. Will Canada's political climate be different in 2016? Anything is possible...

International Court of Justice
(English Language Committee)

Case 1: Democratic Republic of Congo vs. Rwanda (2002)
Case 2: New Zealand vs. France (1973-1974)

Joint Crisis Committees

Security Council
Iraqi Cabinet
United States National Security Council

(English Language Committee)

Preview: Three independent committees dealing with common crisis while managing their own issues as well. These committees will be challenging for those delegates used to more "classical" crisis committees and a more realistic approach that reflects how a decision in one world can affect another.

Historical Crisis

Suez Canal Crisis 1956

(English Language Committee)

Preview: The Suez Canal Crisis is a historical simulation re-creating an incident where Canadian Foreign Minister Lester B. Pearson illustrated himself through exemplary conflict resolution in the region. Delegates will re-live this international incident with the aim of long-term resolution.

Ad-hoc Committee

Civil Society Centre

(English Language Committee)

Preview: The Civil Society Center is a re-creation of a parallel event to a UN conference where Civil Society groups meet to voice their concerns and lobby their governments. Delegates will be allowed to circulate freely through selected committees and to give their input in order to spice up the debate from a Civil Society stand-point. The aim of this ad hoc committee is to write a final document known as the People's Declaration.
