Archives(16.03.05) CANIMUN 2005 Opening Ceremony at the Canadian Museum of Civilization!! On the evening of March 9th, the Opening Ceremony will take place in the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of Civilization! The Grand Hall celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Native People of Canada's West Coast and overlooks the Ottawa River and Parliament Hill. Delegates can catch a shuttle bus from the Novotel Ottawa and are encouraged to check out the exhibits which will stay open after the Ceremony and will be free of charge. A sign up sheet to register for the shuttle bus will be available during Registration. Join us in celebrating the Opening of the 3rd CANIMUN Conference; we hope to see you there!
(16.03.05) NEW!! CANIMUN Social Event! Due to popular demand, CANIMUN will host a new social event this year on Friday, March 11th, 2005.
(16.03.05) Delegate Accomodations at the Novotel Ottawa! UNA-Canada has made the Novotel Ottawa the official hotel of CANIMUN 2005. The Novotel Ottawa will offer delegates a warm, cozy and intimate accommodation experience and is within a 5 minute walk to the Government Conference Center. For more information on how to book rooms please visit the "Accomodations" page of our website.
(16.03.05) Check out the Country Assignments for CANIMUN 2005! You can check which countries have been assigned at the conference by visiting the 'Registration' section of the site. Please note that Delegations are only assigned a country once they have completed the registration process.
(02.03.05) Information on Specialized Agencies now available! CANIMUN 2005 will feature 11 unique and exciting Specialized Agencies. Often appealing to the more "seasoned" Model UN participants, these fast-paced and high-energy committees will simulate important global events occurring in the past, present and future and at CANIMUN 2005, will prove to be challenging, exciting and will shock even the most prepared delegates! (02.03.05) Postion Papers Due February 20th! To allow more time for delegates to research and prepare their positions, position papers are now due on Sunday February 20, 2005. Information about what to include in your position paper can be found on our website under the "Preparation" section. All Delegates sitting in General Assembly and ECOSOC committees must complete a postion paper; for Delegates sitting in Specialized Agency committees, position papers are optional but strongly recommended.
(02.03.05) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE for CANIMUN is now AVAILABLE! The deadline for applications is February 18th, 2005.
(18.01.05) Delegate Registration opened August 30th! Priority Registration began on August 30, 2004 and will guarantee your delegation priority on committee and country selection. Delegations registering in the Priority Registration period will also enjoy lower conference fees. Regular Registration will begin on November 16, 2004.
