Disarmament and International Security
The United Nations General Assembly First Committee, also known as the Disarmament and International Security Committee, is one of the most significant committees in the UN system. For CANIMUN 2020 delegates will engage with critical security issues that face the international community and will develop solutions to these pressing debates. The first topic will focus on the operation and impact of private military forces, with delegates being tasked to devise solutions to the issues surrounding the legality, regulation, effectiveness, and risks associated with private military forces. The second topic will examine the militarization of outer space, as delegates will devise solutions to issues such as anti-satellite weapons and space warfare.
